Check In: August 2016

I sat down at my vanity earlier and went through my eyeshadows and other products and destashed a bunch of things. Eyeshadows went to the trash because they’re depotted and no one would want then and the rest is in my “to sell or to trash” drawer. All of this to say, I have something to write about today.

Way back in February or so I participated in an activity thread on r/MakeupRehab and posted my inventory with numbers. I realized I never posted that number here since I’m still working on updating my inventory and getting it to where I want it to be. So today, I will be telling you my inventory through numbers!

Eye Products: Beginning: 31 End: 25 Now: 11

This includes all eyeliners(pencil, gel and liquid) and eye primer.

Brows: Beginning: 17 End: 8 Now: 5

This includes my eyebrow pencil, gel, dipbrow and powders.

Base Products: Beginning: 65 End: 43 Now: 20

This includes my primers, foundations and tinted moisturizers, powders foundations, lose powders, pressed powder and concealers.

Bronzer, Blush and Highlighter: Beginning: 45 End: 31 Now: 25

This includes all singles of bronzers, blushes, and highlights, as well as contour singles.

Mascara: Beginning: 11 End: 5 Now: 4

This includes mascaras that are opened and unopened as well as the one primer.

Palettes: Beginning: 21 End: 20 Now: 7

This includes, blush palettes, highlighter palette and eyeshadow palettes.

Lip Products: Beginning: 209 End: 151 Now: 70

This includes lipsticks, liquid lipsticks, lip glosses, chubby lip pencils, lip liners, lip primers, lip balms, lip serums and lip exfoliators.

Th only things not counted in this are my singles shadows and blushes in my etsy palettes, more because I don’t think I counted them before at all, but there are 38 of those.

Overall I’ve managed to decrease the size of my collection amazingly! My lip products have been cut by about 2/3 which is increiable. Everywhere else has also gone down really well, except for blush and mascara. Mascara is obvious, I’m at the point where I only keep what I love and use so it’s easy to keep down. Blush, well, I kind of love all that I have, but I have gotten rid of a lot of them. It just doesn’t show.

I wil be eventually showing my ntire collection bit by bit but for now this gives you a sense of how much I have in each category, except for skin care and hair care, which I have a lot of but I use fairly consistently. Plus, it’s all so subjective and so personal that I don’t really want to get into it too much. Maybe in the future.

What do your inventories look like? Have you ever counted how much you have and tracked its progress? Let me know in the comments!
