2016 Sephora Purchases Look Back

Someone recently asked people on r/makeuprehab to look back at their purchases for the holiday 216 period and reflect on what they bought and what happened to the items. I thought that would be a really cool idea, but I thought it might be even better to look back on all my purchases from Sephora from July 2016, since the website will only go that far back. It’s good to reflect on what you’ve spent your money on and where is it now, just to think a little bit more critically about where your money is going.

  1. Sephora The Cleanse Daily Brush Cleaner: I was not a fan of this before, but I actually quite like it now. I have used this up and will be repurchasing once I finish my other brush cleaner. It cleans fairly well, dries fast and doesn’t smell up to high heaven.
  2. Benefit Brow Brush and Spoolie: I love this, use it every day.
  3. Sephora Eyeshadow in Hippie Girl: Super pretty rose gold, love this a lot. Quite happy with the formula of Sephora’s eyeshadows, will definitely buy more in the years to come.
  4. Nars Narscissist Dual-Intensity Cheek Palette: I really like this, but not as much as I thought I would. I need to use it more, I just have a lot of cheek products. I’m debating selling this.
  5. Bite Beauty The Perfect Bite Set: I love this, but as I’m trying to use other things first, so they have been pushed to the back. But I have used all of them a couple times each and they are fantastic.
  6. Sephora Favourites Extravagant Eyes: I really like most of what is in this set, the only thing I dislike was the mascara and the Milk pigment. I have finished the Smashbox primer and used the rest a few times.
  7. Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder Brush: Love this, use it every day.
  8. Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer: It’s nice, but I’m trying to use my older ones before I use this one.
  9. Drybar Merry Mini Must-Haves Blowout Extending Essentials To Go: All three sprays are really good, not much more to say than that.
  10. Peter Thomas Roth Mask Sampler Kit: I haven’t tried all of them yet, but I have liked the ones I have tried. Too many other masks to finish first.
  11. Ren Glow and Go: Pointless purchase, neither of them seem to do anything. And it went on sale after I bought it. Poop.
  12. First Aid Beauty Deep Cleanse Duo: I’m just about to try these and I’m really excited!
  13. Sephora Eyeshadow Red Carpet: Love this one, same thoughts about the other colour.
  14. MUFE Artist Shadow M846: Love this to pieces, so great.
  15. MUFE Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying: Love this, have repurchased a couple times and will continue to.
  16. Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette: I finally got it and haven’t used it much because, as always, I’m trying to use other stuff first, but I enjoyed it the few times I used it.
  17. Drunk Elephant Nightbright: I’ve finished the glycolic serum which did nothing, just about to use the oil. Should have saved my money.
  18. Drybar Mai Tai Spritzer Sea Sat Spray: Love this, finished a sample and bought the full size.
  19. Too Cool For School Kazakaza Cleansing Wipes: Good wipes, pricey though.
  20. Drybar High Tops Self-grip Rollers: Probably shouldn’t have bought these, but one day I may have long enough hair to use these properly.
  21. Shiseido Facial Cotton: Love these a lot. Totally worth the money.
  22. Karuna Clarifying Mask: It was nice, still deciding whether I want to try another one or not. Didn’t make a huge difference, but still felt nice.
  23. Boscia Charcoal Pore-minimizing Hydrogel Mask: Not a fan, it was super difficult to put on and was just a great disappointment.
  24. Sephora Pro Cream Shadow Brush: Love this one a lot, it has a really nice shape for my eyes.
  25. Urban Decay Makeup Lockdown Travel Duo: Already finished the spray, that I love, and just trying to primer now. I think I like the old formula better or at least the packaging. I hate the stupid doe foot.
  26. Too Faced Better Than Sex Lash-on and Melt Off Set: Love the mascara and the melt off mascara thing is surprisingly nice too.
  27. Anastasia Modern Renaissance: Do I really need to talk about this again? Love this to pieces.
  28. Kevin Aucoin Flesh Tone Lip Pencil: Real Talk, I got this because it was only 6$, which I think was a mistake, but it was only 6$. The colour isn’t great, but I can easily make it work once I finish my other nude lip pencils.
  29. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner: HG brown liquid liner. Enough said.
  30. Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow: I accidentally got this in Playa Del Pink instead of Rio De Rose Gold, but it’s so pretty and lovely that I can’t hate myself.
  31. Formula X Prime Base Coat: Love this, my favourite base coat.

Surprisingly, that’s it! I’m surprised by how much I really enjoy, but how much I also dislike. A lot of these were impulse purchases, but I am happy to say that I am happy to have tried them all. I can cross them off my list and move on to better things. What about, have you looked back at your 2016 purchases? Have you used everything you bought? Let me know.
