Show Me That Pan #3

img_2176Not much of an update this time, I am afraid. Only one thing is gone, Stila’s Kitten. Very sad to see that one gone but I will repurchase in the future. Other than that, lots of progress but still lots of product left.

First up is the bronzer shade in the Smashbox Contour Palette. A little bit more pan is showing, but I have put it aside to focus on others in my collection.

Second is the Colorpop Super Shock Cheek Highlighter in Lunch Money. I love the colour and the formula is great, I just dislike cream formulas.

Third is the most exciting thing to have ever happened to my makeup collection. I hit pan on a blush! Granted, I did use it as an eyeshadow a few times which helped hit pan, but still. I did it!

Last is my little eyeshadow palette. Four of the shadows have been there for a while, but the new one if the pink shade from the Urban Decay Vice 4. It’s in a project currently so I am so happy to have hit pan on it.

And there you have it. As I said, not too much change, but a few more pans than before which is progress well made.

Have you hit pan on anything new? Panned anything yet? Let me know!

Monday Mask: Lise Watier Bio Lift Eye Patch

This week is a bit different than previous incarnations, I’m doing an eye mask! I’ve had this for well over a year but never used it because I really didn’t see the point. My undereye area is pretty normal I would say. I have a few fine lines, but it’s not oily or really dry.so I’ve never felt the need to add an eye mask to my routine. But in the name of science, I’ll try it! Continue reading “Monday Mask: Lise Watier Bio Lift Eye Patch”

Monday Mask: Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub

img_2164It’s another Monday and another mask. Today is the Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub, a very long name for a newish mask.

First off, the texture is nice and has these very fine beads so you can feel a little bit of something when spreading it out. I did find I needed to use a lot of it since if you spread it out too much it just slides away. It has no real smell, which is a plus. It also dries fairly quickly. You only need it on for about 5 minutes, so a quick mask for a busy day. It doesn’t completely dry in 5 minutes, but I’m sure if you applied a very thinner layer it would be completely dry.

Taking it off is pretty quick and easy, though not the easiest I’ve ever had. The little beads really come into action when you wet your face and really give you a nice exfoliation. My face felt soft and smooth, if only a tinge dry once you dry the water off.img_2166

It’s a fairly pleasant mask, very quick and easy to use. I wouldn’t use it more than 2 to 3 times per week as it does give you some physical exfoliation, but as a nice mid-week pick me up, it’s great.

I would consider purchasing the full size in the future, but since I don’t really need a physical exfoliator since I have a Clarisonic, it’s not a high priority.

One thig to note, I can’t seem to find it on Sephora or the Canadian Clinique website, but Nordstroms does have it for 28$ CAD, which is a standard price for Clinique.

Empties: July-September 2016

You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to be able to go through my empties bag and finally throw stuff out. It’s been pretty full for the past long while, though I will admit a lot of them are little foil samples. Be prepard for the onslaught of samples.

img_2168
Check out those foil samples!

Keep in mind the list may not be in the order that things are presented in the picture. MP is might purchase, WP is would purchase and WNP is would not purchase, for reference.

  1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer(sample): It was nice, a little too sillicony for my tastes and not mattifying enough, though I would need a size that’s more than one use. MP
  2. Lancer Glowing Skin Perfector(sample): This was nice, but it’s a liquid highlighter. Not my cup of tea. WNP
  3. Becca Backlight Priming filter and Under Eye Brightening Corrector(sample): They’re both nice, just not for my skin type. WNP
  4. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask(sample) x2: I liked it, but not enough to actually pay money for it. WNP
  5. Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask: Considering I can’t actually remember it and I’m pretty sure it’s a rather pricey item, I can’t see myself buying the full size. WNP
  6. Bio Beaute Smoothing and 24h Moisturizing Mask(sample): This was really nice, just a bit too much for my oily skin. WNP
  7. The Face Shop Blueberry Face Mask: It was alright, but nothing to sneeze at. WNP
  8. Kocostar Split End Therapy: Literally did nothing to my hair and it was greasy as balls the next day. WNP
  9.  Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream(sample): A little too moisturizing, story of my life. WNP
  10. All of these next things were just alright, but I would not purchase any of them:
  11. Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Gel(sample)
  12. Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser x2(sample)
  13. Paula’s Choice Redness Relief Moisturizer(sample)
  14. Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Daily Defense x2(sample)
  15. Murad Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture(sample)
  16. Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel(sample)
  17. Guerlain Abeille Royale Oil(sample)
  18. Lancome Genefique Concentrate(sample)
  19. Kat Burki Vitamin C Intensive Face Cream(sample)
  20. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer Gel, Cream and Lotion +(sample)
  21. Paula’s Choice Resist Triple Action Dark Spot Eraser 7% AHA Lotion(sample)
  22. Murad InstaMatte Oil-Control Mask(sample)
  23. Fresh Peony Spot-Correction Brightening Essence
  24. Paula’s Choice Resisy Triple Action Dark Spot Eraser 2% BHA Gel(sample)
  25. Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Toner(sample)
  26. Paula’s Choice Suncare Extra Care Sunscreen(sample)
  27. Farmacy Rise N’ Shine Daily Moisture Lock(sample)
  28. Altchek MD Daily Moisturizer(sample)
  29. Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad for Face(sample)
  30. Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Origial Formula(sample)
  31. Paula’s Choise Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum(sample) x2
  32. Paula’s Choise Resist Daily Pore-refining Treatment 2% BHA(sample)
  33. Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid(sample)
  34. Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel(sample): I actually kind of liked this, enough that I want to get the bogger trial size or full size at some point. I feel like it, along with the other very similar samples, actually did a bit of something. MP
  35. Clean and Clear Night Relaxing Wipes: I’ve bought these before and realy liked them, but they were a bit dry and tugged at my skin. MP
  36. I Love… Raspberry and Blackberry Bubble Bath and Shower Creme: Going to fully admit it, I bought this because it smelled like raspberries. It was nice, but terrible as a body wash. WNP
  37. Nexxus Color Assure Shampoo: I loved this at first, until I realized it made my hair have this really odd feel to my hair oce it dried. WNP
  38. Nip + Fab Glycolic Night Pads Extreme: I liked them, but as I have mentioned a while ago, they seemed to not really be doig anything anymore and my skin has been better since stopping using them. Not sure if the two are related, but since it wasn’t doing anythig anymore, I won’t spend the money. WNP
  39. Hard Cansy Fast and Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray: It was nice, but it didn’t last very long and I still really cant tell if setting prays do much for me. WNP
  40. The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Control Gel Cream: It’s taken me a while, but I’ve finally admitted that this is my holy grail morning moisturizer without SPF. It’s hydrating, it’s matte and it doesn’t break me out. I think the reason I stopped using for a long while was because it doesn’t gice me quite enough moisture in the winter, which I will test out in the coming months. WP
  41. Paula’s Choice Clear Ultra-Light Daily Mattifying Fluid(Deluxe sample): I think this was breaking me out so I thik I finished this up by using it on my body. WNP
  42. La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo +: Love this to death. WP
  43. Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water(sample): Love this, have purchased the oily skin version. WP
  44. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum(Deluxe sample): Literally did nothing, but didn’t hurt either. Very overpriced. WNP
  45. The Face Shop Blanclouding White Moisture Serum(sample?): Didn’t like it for my face, under my eyes it gave me some weird bumps on my cheeks so I used it on my body. WNP
  46. Sunday Riley Good Genes(deluxe sample): Good lord this stuff smells awful. But my face did feel really smooth and it looked nice. But that smell is something fierce and that price is outrageous. WNP
  47. Sonia Kashuk Brightenig Powder: This took suck a long time and yet no time at all once I used it to set all over! It works nicely, but not perfectly for me. I thought it would be brightening under the eyes, which was my original intention with it, but it;s just a powder with glitter in it. But you can’t see the glitter on your face unless you’re up super close. That was nice. WNP
  48. Wet N Wild Coverall Pressed Powder in Fair: Ridiculously powdery but still nice for the price. WNP
  49. BareMinerals Mineral Veil(deluxe sample): It was nice, but ot worth the hype. WNP
  50. Skin INC Vitamin A Serum(sample): Such a bitch to get out of the packaging and there’s still stuff in it that I can’t get out! Didn’t notice much of a difference but it had a nice texture. WNP
  51. Fresh Sugar Nourishing Lip Balm(sample): Really nice, just not quite enough for my lips at night. I would seriously consider it, but I don’t even want to know the price for it. MP
  52. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment(sample): Love this like a lot of people though potentially not enough to buy the full size. MP
  53. Stila Kitten Highlight: Holy shit, I did it! It took a while to finish it off, but it’s gone. It was actually a really nice highlight on my skin, but it came in a limited edition palette. It seems as though you can buy it from Stila in a duo, but no idea if it’s actually the same thing. WP
  54. Beauty Blender: Love it, though I’m thinking of trying the Real Techiniques dupe. MP
  55. Stila Kitten: So sad to see this finished, will definitely purchase once I’m out of shimmery eyechadows. WP
  56. The Face Shop Brow Pencil in Gray Brown: Lovely pencil, I just don’t like the pencil format. WNP
  57. Urban Decay Perversion: Love this so much! Thrown out because of a stye. WP
  58. Josie Maran Argan Black Oil Mascara: Love it, can’t always justify the price. Thrown out because of a stye. MP
  59. Tarte Tarteist Mascara(sample): Love this, will hopefully prucahse in the future. Thrown out because of a stye. WP
  60. Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara(sample): Love this as well! Thrown out because of a stye. WP
  61. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 in 910: First time I’ve ever finished a foundation and I’m so proud of myself. I love this to pieces, but I can’t seem to find my shade match. MP

So, 60 products. Granted, at least half of them were samples, but that’s a shit to of samples out of my life. I’m really proud of all of this, especially the foundation and the powders. Can’t wait to have even more next time.

Even better, only 7 out of 60 are things I would actually repurchase which is great! So many less things in my collection and in my potential future collection.

How many empties have you had recently? Let me know in the comments!

Monday Mask: Dr. Jart+ Brightening Infusion Hydrogel Mask

img_2160It’s a Monday mask! A couple months ago I tried to do  mask everyday, which didn’t really work out, but I did like the idea of testing and reviewing mask. So Monday Mask was born!

Our first mask is the Dr. Jart+ Brightening Infusion Hydrogel Mask. This is the first hydrogel mask I’ve ever used after hearing about them for so long. It’s very different than the paper masks I’m used to, especially since this came in two parts. On bigger part for the top 3/4 of the face and a smaller one for below the nose.

img_2162
Do I look like a serial killer enough?

As for the fit, I had no problems with it that I normally wouldn’t have. Most never fit perfectly, but with this one I didn’t feel like it would poke me in the eye or drip into it. It had no real smell that I could sense, but don’t take my word for it since I have very little sense of smell.

It claims to boost dull and lackluster skin, bathing it in hydrators and brightening actives and immediately restores youthful glow.img_2163

Do I really find it did much? Not really. It takes a few minutes after taking it off for the essence to sink in, but even then it still feels rather sticky. It does feel hydrated, just with this sort of film on it. I’m hoping it sinks in after a while.

Would I repurchase? I did find this at Winners for 5.99$ CAD vs 9$ CAD at Sephora, so if I found more at Winners I would consider it. It is rather expensive for a one time use product, especially since I don’t see much of a difference, but I do have another one to try so maybe it’ll work better the second time.

As a side note, I did notice the next day that my skin did look a little brighter, so it does work ever so slightly.

Thanks for reading, let me know if you’ve ever tried this mask and what you thought. Or, recommend me some hydrogel masks that really work!
